WHAT’S UNIQUE?
The Tribeca Greenmarket is right beside Washington Market Park, which is convenient in its name. The area is a good hang-out spot after getting food and seems to radiates iconoclastic downtown culture. The market itself is not very large, but “Not Just Rugelach” offered Empanadas and Soft Pockets, a category of food I had never seen at the market before, but should more often. They are convenient and hearty, bringing a little culture into the market! Finally, the stand which sold the chicken, beef and pork had a sign describing “what meat is available today,” menu style. Emphasizing the seasonality of food, this tactic is both attractive and useful.
PRICING
Very reasonable prices.
Cantaloupe: $3.50 each
Yellow Peaches: $3.49/lb
Dililahs: 2 Bouquets for $10.00
Arugula: $1.50/bunch
Blueberries: $3.00/pint
Garlic: $2.50/head
Chicken: $3.50/lb/1/2 chicken
ACTUALLY LOCAL?
Some farms are as far as Pennsylvania, but others are as close as Cambridge, New York.
CONVENIENCE
Very convenient location. The market gets lots of business. Plus, it gives nearby fast-food restaurants, such as McDonald’s, a run for their money. The market is near a school and next to a park, so during the school year I am sure the market flourishes even more.
NAVIGATION
Very easy to navigate, although the sidewalk between stands and park is limited.

FINAL COMMENTS
If this market were open longer, (especially during the school year), it would benefit from traffic of students and adults ending school and work, respectively. The market would be ideal for everyone if seafood and dairy were added, because then more could enjoy a full meal there.
